Sir Lancelot Shadwell (1779-1850)
Eminent barrister at Lincoln's Inn, MP for Ripon (1826-1827) until becoming Vice-Chancellor of England in 1827. President of the Society of Psychrolutes: qualification for membership required the daily practice of outdoor bathing between November and March. He was a supporter of Jewish emancipation.
