Business Collections (France)

The Rothschild Archive is much more than a single assemblage of material. It is a collection of collections, each reflecting the business and personal interests of the Rothschild family across Europe.

Business records of de Rothschild Frères, Paris

The Trustees of The Rothschild Archive London are responsible for the collection of business records of the Paris House. In 1972, the French Rothschild family deposited the archives of de Rothschild Frères with the Archives Nationales de France in Paris. These papers were subsequently transferred to the Archives Nationales du Monde du Travail in Roubaix, France, and catalogued as Fonds AQ 132. In 1999, with the creation of The Rothschild Archive Trust, the Trustees of the Rothschild Archive assumed responsibility for these deposited papers; the collection remains at Roubaix.

Access to the collection held at Roubaix

Researchers wishing to study these papers should note that they should first register with the Rothschild Research Forum, and then make an application to the Archives Nationales du Monde du Travail, Roubaix. Further information about how to access the collection at Roubaix can be found here »

The Archive has created a Guide to its holdings. Go to The Guide to the collections of The Rothschild Archive »
