1. Researchers wishing to cite references in written work of documents consulted in the course of their research in the Reading Room of The Rothschild Archive are advised to adopt the style of references outlined in the examples below. This is to ensure consistency across published works to enable other researchers to easily identify material.
2. This guidance does not replace the undertakings concerning publication and dissemination (in both hard-copy and digital form) of information from The Rothschild Archive collections obtained by researchers in the course of their study. These are clearly set out in the Research Agreement that researchers are requested to sign as a condition of access to The Rothschild Archive. Researchers are reminded of the undertaking to seek the approval of the archive for circulation of any information so obtained in advance of publication or submission to a third party.
3. Further advice on citation and publication and dissemination of information obtained in the course of study with The Rothschild Archive is available from the staff of the Archive upon request.
4. ‘Rothschild Archive London’ may be abbreviated to ‘RAL’ if in the first instance it appears in the work it is written in full.
