In today’s fast-paced world where emails are delivered in micro-seconds, and groceries, clothes and even automobiles can be ordered and delivered to your home in a matter of minutes, we look back 200 years to a time when the transport of mail and goods was a much more complicated affair. Treasure of the Month for March 2022

The collections of The Rothschild Archive London hold some unexpected treasures; this piece of antique furniture, acquired as a gift in 2020, has this month been put on display at New Court. In all the cities where they settled, members of the Rothschild family sought to apply their wealth, patronage and influence for the good of their fellow citizens, supporting Jewish and non-Jewish charities engaged with a range of social issues such as children’s welfare and education.
