Business records
The business records of the London firm, N M Rothschild & Sons, form the core of the Archive, reflecting the activities of the other banks through many series of correspondence and accounts that circulated between them. Material relating to the other business houses survives in limited quantities. The collections of business records are supplemented by deposits of family and personal papers, reflecting the public and private interests of members of the family.
The Archive is also responsible for an important collection of papers relating to the bank of de Rothschild Frères. These papers are held in the Archives Nationales du Monde du Travail at Roubaix, France.
Family papers
The Rothschild family's other interests are reflected in the growing collections of personal papers that the Archive has been fortunate enough to attract.
